Features The Hidden Secrets of Windows 8
After using Windows 8 for a few days, we've uncovered some interesting features, some of which are not immediately visible on the screen. The strangest part is that Microsoft has not talked about any of these features in their official blog post.
For your convenience, today we will share a topic about some hidden secret that we've discovered in Windows 8. So without wasting time, let's share the hidden gems in Windows 8:
1. Hidden Quick Access Menu (Win + X Menu)
Although Microsoft has removed the Start button and Start Menu of Windows 8 Taskbar but they have added features Quick Access Menu (QAM) is hidden that provides easy access to many applications such systems are useful:
Programs and Features
Power Options
system Settings
device manager
command Prompt
Task Manager
Control Panel
look for run and some more To access QAM, move your mouse cursor to the extreme lower left corner of the screen and right click and you will get a hidden system menu
2. Auto-Save Screenshots
It was an awesome addition to Windows 8. In previous versions of Windows, whenever you need to take a screenshot of your screen, you must press "PrntScr" key or if you want to take a screenshot of the window a specific program, you need to click on it to make it active and press "Alt + PrntScr" key . After doing this, the screenshot was captured by the clipboard and you have to paste and save it using image editing software such as built-in MS Paint, Adobe Photoshop, etc.
Windows 8 makes the whole process much easier. You can simply press "Win + PrntScr" buttons together and Windows 8 will automatically save screenshots in your library folder "Images". Screenshot saved with "Screenshot.png" name. If you take more screenshots, they are saved with the additional numbers such as "Screenshot (2). Png "," Screenshot (3) png. "And so on.
3. New Hotkey to Access Safe Mode
In previous versions of Windows, if the user wants to boot into Safe Mode, he needs to press "F8" key at system startup but this is an old and well know hotkey no longer works in Windows 8. Microsoft has replaced it with a new hotkey.
New hotkey is "Shift + F8". So now you have to press "Shift + F8" keys together to access the Safe Mode option in Windows 8. I can not understand the reasons behind this move. Maybe they will use the "F8" hotkey for some new stuff? Who knows?
4. New Hot Corners in Screen
Windows 8 comes with heat angle feature that allows you to access some of the built-in option when you move the mouse cursor in the corner of your screen.
When you move your mouse cursor to the bottom left corner of the screen, it shows thumbnails Start small screen that lets you go to the Start screen.
When you move your mouse cursor to the top left corner of the screen, it shows a list of all Metro apps running so you can switch between applications or close an application.
When you move your mouse cursor to the top right corner or bottom right of the screen, it shows the new Mantra Bar where you can access the Settings, Search, Share, Devices and Start Screen charm.
If you do not like the Charms bar automatically appears on the screen as soon as you move the cursor to the top right or bottom right corner of your desktop.
