Windows Blue Will Become An Era End Desktop Environment?
So far, it's been a couple of times and leaked screenshots of Windows Blue has been circulating on the internet, revealing new features promoted by the Windows Blue. However, almost all of these new features are coming to the Metro Style UI and not for the desktop environment or desktop mode as shown above.
All the new features coming in Windows Blue is trying to make the user feel at home using the Metro Style UI. Not only that, Microsoft will deliver Office application codenamed Gemini office applications that deliver a more hospitable to the touch and can run in the Metro UI.
This will allow users to do many things without having to go into desktop mode. After many users comfortable with using the Metro UI with increasing applications running on the tile interface, Microsoft may terminate or eliminate desktop support environment.
However, this is just a speculation from various sources to connect with the facts about the new features brought by Windows Blue. Microsoft itself has confirmed the presence of the Windows Blue and will reportedly be introduced at the Microsoft Build Conference in June.
